This course offers classroom and practical instruction on obtaining electrocardiograms in health-care settings. Instruction includes patient preparation, use and maintenance of the electrocardiograph and methods for obtaining an electrocardiogram. Students will also learn to recognize abnormalities on the electrocardiogram. This course is perfect for students looking to enter the health-care field as well as health-care professionals looking to acquire additional skills. CPR certification is needed for this class. See Page 6 for class information. Upon successful completion of the course, students will qualify to take the National Association of Health Professionals certifying exam. Program also includes HIPAA, infection control,blood-borne pathogens, personal protective equipment and handwashing review. High school diploma or equivalency required.
