These crossings from Alcatraz are recommended for those swimmers who have either taken the Water World Swim Alcatraz Swim Clinic or who feel confident and have had prior experience swimming in cool open water.Our crossings are usually limited to six to twelve (6 to 12) swimmers and are accompanied by three or more of our coaches. Our crossings are supported by the best Water World Swim pilots. After a brief, but thorough discussion of the conditions of the bay during your crossing, we will jump from our boat, and swim toward our destination across the bay.Swimmers will be divided in two or three groups of slow, medium and competitive levels in which are accompanied by our coaches. This is surely an exciting and thrilling swim.Be sure to meet 45 minutes before jump time. Bring 2 towels, warm clothes for on the boat and afterwards, have your wetsuit on in boat and be ready to jump. To retain a Rollover Credit, you must notify us of your intentions to pull out of a race NO LATER THAN 2 WEEKS OR 15 DAYS PRIOR TO THE EVENT DATE.f within the 15 days leading up to the event a medical reason, military deployment or death in the family will prevent your participation, you must notify us in writing and attach documentation (i.e. doctor’s note, deployment notice) to support your claim. We must be in receipt of your written notice at least 72 hours before the published swim start time. All requests for Rollover Credits for any reason besides medical, military deployment or death within 15 days of race day will be denied.No credits will be issued within the last 72 hours prior to swim start. A Rollover Fee will apply for all Rollover Credits(See chart below)We reserve the right to cancel a swim due to extreme weather conditions. This is for your own safety and safety of the support team. U.S. Coast Guard may not allow the swim to take place due to different extreme circumstances.
