Fork Union Basketball School (FUBS) was established in 1985 under the direction of Coach Fletcher Arritt. Coach Arritt will again be present at this year’s basketball school, but the camp will be under the guidance of Fork Union Prep Basketball Coach Matt Donohue as well as Brooks Berry, a current Post Graduate Coach and alum of Fork Union Military Academy. Over the past 42 years, more than 200 of FUMA’s players have gone on to play Division I basketball. Throughout Thomas Gymnasium, one can view an impressive display of college jerseys donated by former players. These athletes, along with other well-respected players, are the core of the teaching staff at Fork Union Basketball School.Experience, success, love of the sport, and enthusiasm; all are reflective of the 27 years FUBS has continued to educate campers in the fundamentals of the game. Included with skill instruction is good sportsmanship, social skills and the importance of teamwork. Boarding on the campus of Fork Union Military Academy is available for boys from 3rd to 12th grade. Girls and boys may attend as day campers. We have a full schedule that allows for various ages and skill levels. The camp is located on the 500 acre campus of Fork Union Military Academy in Fork Union, Virginia. FUMA is on Route 15 approximately 18 miles south of Zion Crossroads, 35 miles from Charlottesville, 50 miles from Richmond, and 100 miles from D.C. Campers are housed in the brand new Academy dorms staffed by camp counselors and instructors. Meals begin Sunday evening and end with breakfast on Thursday. Day campers may have lunch and dinner. You can find more information about the history and camp at: www.forkunionbasketball.com/camp FAQsIs there a concession stand?Yes.
