Looking ahead, on Thursday, July 4, Village Runner will host its 20th annual 5K Run/Community Walk, also in Redondo Beach. For almost two decades, the Village Runner has been promoting and sponsoring running events in the South Bay. America’s birthday on July 4 brings an equally passionate group of more than 3,500 running enthusiasts who will participate in the 20th anniversary Village Runner 5K Run/Community Walk. Portions of the proceeds from the 4th of July Run will go to the Redondo Beach Firefighter's Community Relief Fund and local school running programs. Mike Ward is the owner of Village Runner and will be the race director for the St. Paddy’s Day and July 4 events.
