Pac-12 Tournament In Las Vegas A Good Move For The Conference?

By Avinash Kunnath

Does the new location make you more excited about this year's Pac-12 Tournament?

Jack Blanchat, Rule of Tree:The location doesn't make me any less excited than in years past, that's for sure.

Parker Baruh, Ralphie Report: Not really. The fact that the teams are much better overall this year than last is more exciting to me than the venue.

Jack Follman, Pacific Takes: We'll see when they start to show the crowds. I'm hoping that the lure of Vegas brings more fans, particularly students, to the tournament. I know that it would make me much more excited to go if I was still in school.

Andy Wooldridge, Building The Dam: I'm more excited because I think more fans will be excited, and the tournament won't have the feel of a lot of high school holiday tournaments, where the quality of basketball might be great, but all of about 20 parents and family friends are the only people there to see it.

David Piper, Addicted to Quack: It doesn't necessarily make me more excited, because I don't get to go. But I know a lot of fans who are excited and are going precisely because of the location change, which makes it a win overall.

Adam Butler, PacHoops: Yes.

Call me an idealist or a dreamer or just really ecstatic about going to this thing but college hoops is so marvelously celebrated by the fans and moving this thing to Vegas is to move it to the fans. For the first time in awhile, the Pac-12 tournament can be enjoyed - live - by many more persons. And I'm excited about that.

NorCalNick, California Golden Blogs: I'm personally not a big fan of either L.A. or Las Vegas as destination cities, but I'm willing to accept any change that might upgrade the Pac-12 tournament from its previous status as a decently energetic library with some squeaky shoes in the background. And the idea that multiple other west coast leagues are in Vegas, making the city an early March Mecca for basketball junkies is an appealing idea that could create a fun tradition for hoop junkies. Kenpom will be in the house!
