Yet another early, embarrassing loss in the NCAA tournament

SBnation.com

Rapid Reaction: GAAAAAAAAAAA! *pulls hair out*

Now that we have that out of the way, we'll move on to the highlights of the game.

...

Oh, that's right. In today's 71-55 loss to the Shockers of Wichita State, there were none.

The Panthers shot 35% from the floor, went 1-17 from three point range, and turned the ball over 15 times. This was the second consecutive game in which the Panthers shot below 37% after closing out the regular season with a 72% performance against DePaul.

If there were any bright spots on the day, it's that Pitt went 16-20 from the free throw line and Steven Adams finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

This game also marked Tray Woodall's final game in a Pitt uniform. Unfortunately, it will be remembered as perhaps his worst game as a Panther, turning the ball over five times and shooting 1-12 (0-5 from three) on the day.

This loss continues the trend of under-performing in the post season. Jamie Dixon's teams now hold a 2-3 record over their last three NCAA tournament appearances, all with exits during the first weekend. The Panthers are also 1-4 in the BIG EAST tournament during that same span.

And now comes the long off-season. Will Steven Adams go to the NBA? Will Jamie Dixon listen to the overtures of Southern Cal? We'll just have to wait and see.
