2 arrested following shots fired call in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN —

Two people were arrested Wednesday morning in Middletown after shots were fired at Jacoby and Young streets.

When police responded to the scene at 2:53 a.m., a sport utility vehicle that had been shot at least once was located. Police discovered that the shooter and several other subjects fled the area.

Carmen Burton of Calumet Avenue, who was allegedly arguing with the shooter, was arrested on a warrant through the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. The shooter, identified as Alex Johnson, 25, of 1339 Woodlawn Avenue, voluntarily surrendered and was arrested for an outstanding warrant through Middletown, according to police.

Johnson was taken to Middletown City Jail and charged with weapons under disability, weapons while intoxicated, discharging a firearm in city limits and criminal damaging.

He is scheduled to appear in court this morning.
