ENGLEWOOD —

A child was struck by a vehicle this afternoon in front of Northmoor Elementary School.

The incident happened at approximately 4 p.m. in the 4400 block of Old Salem Road.

The victim is a 5-year-old girl who had left Northmoor school before she was struck by a small Pontiac car, according to Clayton police.

Police said the child was in the crosswalk when she was struck by the car.

The child was taken by life squad to Dayton Children’s Medical Center. The severity of her injuries and her condition were not immediately available.

The vehicle did not appear to have any significant damages.
