RV catches fire, burns 2 homes in Fairborn

By Breaking News Staff

FAIRBORN —

A forensic mechanic probably will be called in to determine what caused a motor home to catch fire and burn two houses and a garage Thursday evening, Fairborn’s fire chief said.

Crews dispatched to a house in the 1800 block of Bordeaux Drive at about 6:30 p.m. found a large RV parked in the driveway fully engulfed in flames, Chief Carl Day said.

The house of the RV’s owner as well as the house next door had “significant fire on the exterior,” Day said.

Homeowner Bob Keeton told News Center 7’s Layron Livingston that he believed his RV caught fire, and everyone in Keeton’s home escaped injury.

No one was home next door at the time of the fire, said Keeton and Day, and Day also noted that no one was injured.

He estimated damage to the RV at $10,000 to $15,000, and damage to Keeton’s home and garage at $10,000 to $15,000.

Day estimated damage to the house next door at $20,000.
