MIAMI VALLEY —

The swath of freezing rain that pelted the Miami Valley and southwest Ohio on Thursday night led to several accidents and lane closures overnight. Here’s a sampling:

8:13 a.m.: A vehicle has reportedly crashed into a pole in the 4600 block of Linden Avenue in Riverside.

7:41 a.m.: Emergency crews are en route to a crash on northbound Ohio 4 just south of Chambersburg Road. A vehicle is reportedly on its top, and the driver is trapped.

7:29 a.m.: A crash involving three vehicles has been reported on northbound Interstate 75 near the Indian Ripple Road exit.

6:55 a.m.: A crash involving an Ohio State Highway Patrol cruiser has been reported on southbound Interstate 75 near the National Road exit in Vandalia. No injuries have been reported.

6:23 a.m.: Several slide-offs have been reported on I-75 between Piqua and Sidney, according to reports. Another crash was reported on I-75 north near the Ohio 725 exit. Vandalia and Butler Twp. crews are working on a couple of crashes on Interstate 75 near I-70 and National Road.

5:52 a.m.: A two-vehicle crash was reported on I-75 in the northbound lanes just south of I-70. Troopers said two people suffered non-life threatening injuries.

11:19 p.m.: A vehicle believed to be a Mustang was damaged when it hit a concrete median on Interstate 75 north near the Stanley Avenue exit. There were no injuries, but the car was disabled, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch.

11 p.m.: A two-car crash was reported on I-75 south in West Chester Twp. There was no immediate word on damage or injuries.

10:58 p.m.: One person was taken to a hospital after a four-car crash on I-675 north, just north of Wilmington Pike exit, in Sugarcreek Twp. The accident, described as a fender-bender, occurred about the time that dispatchers were fielding reports of ice.

10:31 p.m. A driver and his passenger, both 18, were injured when the SUV they were in ended up on its side and in the median along I-75 north, just north of State Route 725. Ohio State Patrol Sgt. Steve Duteil said the driver was taken to Kettering Medical Center and the passenger was treated at the scene.

The driver was trapped for a time, Duteil said, and OSP is investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash as well. The accident occurred as the vehicle came off the ramp headed north, hit a guardrail and crossed all of the northbound lanes, continued up an embankment and nearly into the oncoming southbound lanes, and then rolled before coming to a stop on its side.
