DAYTON —

A Dayton teenager reported missing on Tuesday has been in contact with his family, according to Dayton Police.

Miah House of Boltin Street said her 13-year-old son, Ray Gaines, was last seen at approximately 3:48 p.m. walking from his home to Walmart, 6955 Miller Lane.

Wednesday, police said Gaines had talked to his mother on the phone from his grandmother’s house and was expected to return home.

Gaines, a seventh-grader at Dayton Boys Prep Academy, was last seen wearing a blue jacket, black pants and black Nike shoes.

Ray is described as dark-skinned, 5-feet-6-inches tall and 130 pounds. He wears a clear and black gauge earring in his right ear and has a box fade-type haircut, according to his mother.
