Police are trying to determine what led to a vehicle to crash into the wall of the service center at the Jeff Wyler Springfield Auto Mall on Wednesday afternoon.

Neither the driver nor any of the workers was injured in the incident at the dealership, 1501 Hillcrest Ave., at about 4:46 p.m.

Police and emergency crews dispatched to the rear service area of the dealership found a vehicle that had rammed a pole and an exterior wall, the impact of which broke several bricks.

Heavy front-end damage was done to the vehicle. The license tag, which belonged to a dealer, indicated the vehicle was not Wyler property, according to an employee.

Wednesday evening, police said they are continuing to investigate the incident.
