No arrests in Union City, Ind. stabbing

UNION CITY, Ind. —

A man was treated and released at Reid Hospital Thursday night after he reported being stabbed by one of three males who were trying to rob him, according to the Union City Police Department.

The 36-year-old man told police he was approached by three males on North Plum Street after buying items at the Family Dollar.

The victim reported he fought with the group after they demanded what was in the Family Dollar bag and then his wallet.

One of the three wielded a knife and stabbed the victim in the side.

The injury appeared to be serious and medics called for CareFlight, then opted to take him by life squad to Reid Hospital, according to police.

No arrests have been made.

The attackers were described as Hispanic, wearing dark clothing and “beanie” style toboggans, according to police.
