Charges will not be filed in the dog mauling of a 93-year-old Bethel Township woman Tuesday morning in her home at 8745 South State Route 202 in Miami County.

Elizabeth Louise Hirt remains in serious condition at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton in the intensive care unit. She suffered severe injuries to both hands and both legs.

Miami County Sheriff's Department Detective Lt. Steve Lord said that deputies will make a referral to the  Adult Protective Services at Job and Family Services in Miami County.

Lord said that the daughter of Mrs. Hirt was home with her when the attack reportedly occured. Lord said that Jennifer Dickensheets, 66, of  New Carlisle, was allegedly intoxicated at the time.

The two Boston terrier dogs are being held at the Miami County Animal Shelter near Troy.
