DAYTON —

Detectives have identified a man shot and killed in Dayton.

Jason Rutledge, 29, was driven to Good Samaritan Hospital following a shooting Wednesday night at 2060 Ravenwood Avenue.

Sgt. Matthew Dickey said a friend or acquaintance drove Rutledge to the hospital, and that’s where he died because of his injuries.

Two other men also showed up at area hospitals with gunshot wounds, but it was not clear if they were connected to the Ravenwood incident. Police reports indicate those shootings took place at different locations.

Authorities investigated on Ravenwood Avenue for several hours. It’s believed the house where the shooting occurred was mostly vacant, but it appeared it was being used for parties, Dickey said.

A motive in the shooting has yet to be determined and there was no significant evidence that any large fights or altercations took place in the home, he said. Officials are questioning multiple witnesses.

This is Dayton’s third homicide within a 24-hour span. Two others included the killings of Oscar Beason, 95 at 1544 Hochwalt Ave., and Jillian R. Miles, 27, at 160 W. Parkwood Ave. All three homicides remain under investigation.
