BEAVERCREEK —

Police are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a thief who used stolen credit cards three days before Christmas to buy more than $1,700 in Apple computer products.

Surveillance cameras at the Beavercreek Target store, 2490 N. Fairfield Road, captured a photo of the female suspected of buying several iPads from that store on Dec. 22.

The purchases were made less than 10 minutes after a female called police to report that her credit cards had been stolen from her vehicle, which was in the parking lot of the Beavercreek YMCA on Grange Hall Road when it was broken into, Beavercreek police said Friday.

Word about the theft has come to light now because video surveillance from the store has become available, police said.

The suspect is described as a black female who was wearing sunglasses and large earrings.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspected thief is asked to call the police department’s tip line at (937) 320-7393.
