CENTERVILLE —

Centerville Police arrested a man Thursday they say assaulted and abducted his girlfriend back in September.

Michael Spicer, 23, is being held in the Montgomery County Jail pending charges of abduction and disruption of public services. He is also facing a robbery charge out of Huber Heights in connection to a separate incident.

Centerville Police Officer John Davis said the alleged abduction took place Sept. 3.

Spicer and his girlfriend had broken up, but the girlfriend found him hiding in her car as she drove from Huber Heights to Centerville for work.

Davis said Spice allegedly forced the female out of the car and assaulted her. He then made her drive to work and he waited until she was done with work for the day before forcing her to go back home in Huber Heights.

She was reportedly able to convince him to stop at the Walmart on Brandt Pike in Huber Heights where she tried to call for help. At that point, Spicer allegedly physically forced her out of the store, Davis said. Somehow she eventually escaped.

Centerville Police were given the case in January because the woman’s workplace is in that jurisdiction. Officers located Spicer, but he was locked up in a Tennessee jail.

He was released Thursday and Centerville officers were there to arrest him.
