DAYTON —
A man found sitting inside a stolen car admitted to police that he traded the car for $10 worth of crack cocaine, according to a Dayton Police report.
Thomas Lee Robinson, 51, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail Wednesday afternoon pending a charge of receiving stolen property. He also had several outstanding drug warrants in Montgomery County.
According to a report, a police officer was patrolling the rear lot of 850 N. Main St. and spotted the blue Volkswagen Passat parked and running. The car had been reported stolen and had a broken rear passenger window.
Robinson was sitting in the drivers seat of the car and was immediately detained by police.
Robinson he said he “knew something was up with the car,” according to the report.
“I knew the car was stolen. I gave a white guy a 10 dollar rock for the car. I got the car on North Main, but I don’t know who the dude is,” he said, according to the report.
