ST. MARYS, Auglaize Co. —

An officer-involved shooting Wednesday night resulted in a male suspect sustaining non-life threatening injuries, according to officials.

The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call around 10 p.m. from a caller in the 600 block of Derrick Street in St. Marys. The caller told the dispatch center twice he would shoot anyone who came over. The caller proceeded to hang up on the dispatcher, authorities said.

St. Marys Police responded to the call with assistance from the Auglaize County deputies. When officers approached the residence, the suspect exited the house armed and shots were fired, authorities said.

The suspect was transported to Joint Township Memorial Hospital with what was believed to be non-life threatening injuries, officials said.

A St. Marys officer and an Auglaize County deputy have be placed on administrative leave pending the results of the investigation, which is standard procedure in a case like this, authorities said.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigation will conduct an investigation due to involvement from both deputies and St. Marys Police.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, New Bremen Police Department and Wapakoneta Police Department also assisted at the scene.

The case remains under investigation.
