DAYTON —

A man was able to steal a wallet from two individuals at a gas station early Thursday morning before being chased off by one of the victims wielding a baseball bat.

Two Dayton Police officers were dispatched to the Shell at 4046 Free Pike at about 3 a.m. for a man who was robbed at gun point.

According to the police report, the 25-year-old victim was pumping his friend’s gas when a black male exited the passenger’s side a car nearby and approached him. The man pulled out a silver semi-automatic handgun and pressed the gun to the victim’s head, pinning him against the car and demanding his belongings.

The victim’s female friend in the car pulled a baseball bat out of her back seat, swinging and possibly hitting the suspect.

As the man ran away, he turned the gun on her telling her to get back in the car. The suspect re-entered his car and drove off.

The suspect is described as a black male, guessed to be 21 to 24 years old and around 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was wearing a grey sweatsuit and hat, and had a thin mustache. The driver of the get-away vehicle was described to also be a black male and was stocky. The two men got away in a silver car possibly a Dodge Charger with a temporary plate and dark tinted windows. They got away with the victim’s wallet containing several IDs as well as his cell phone.

The clerk of the gas station did not witness the robbery, according to the report, but he did tell officers that there is a video of the parking lot that may have captured the robbery.

Police are still searching for the suspects.
