DAYTON —
Police on an undercover burglary patrol on Dayton’s eastside witnessed what they believed to be a drug deal and ended up making one arrest for drug possession.
Dianco Taylor, 25, is in the Montgomery County Jail pending a felony charge of possession of drugs.
According to a Dayton Police report, he was found to have 2.57 grams of cocaine hidden in his shoe during a traffic stop.
Cops patrolling in unmarked cars on Xenia Avenue Thursday afternoon saw a man run out of a house, get into the passenger seat of a car, then get out two minutes later and run back, according to the report.
Suspecting drug activity, police followed the car and eventually make a stop for a traffic violation on James H. McGee.
The driver, Taylor, was removed from the car when he couldn’t provide an ID. A police dog was called to sniff the car and alerted officers to the driver’s side. When police searched, no drugs were found in the car, according to the report.
Then one officer said several people this month have been arrested with drugs hidden in their socks.
Police found the cocaine when they asked Taylor to take off his shoe.
