DAYTON —
Police are looking for a Dodge sports car believed to have been involved in a shooting early Friday that left a 32-year-old man dead from multiple wounds.
Ramon McDonald, who lives in the 300 block of Lexington Avenue, was shot several times by someone in a burgundy Dodge Charger at about 8:38 a.m. in the 100 block of Lexington, Dayton police said.
According to the preliminary investigation, McDonald and another man became involved in a verbal altercation at or near the BP station at Salem and Grand avenues. McDonald, who was shot less than two blocks from that gas station, was believed to be walking home when he was hit by gunfire that came from the car.
Homicide detectives don’t know what the altercation was about, but have issued an alert to patrol officers to be on the lookout for the Charger, which has tinted windows and the word “Daytona” in white lettering on the rear quarter panel.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Dayton police at (937) 333-1189 or (937) 333-COPS.
