A man and woman were killed, after the man allegedly shot the woman and then killed himself, according to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the home at 3481 Larkins Road around 9:30 p.m. on reports of shots fired. When officers arrived on the scene their appeared to be some type of family gathering with close to a half dozen people present, said Greene County Maj. Eric Spicer.

Inside the home deputies found both the man and woman deceased, according to Spicer.

“Obviously its a very disturbing event, a very sad event and a tragedy here for the family,” Spicer said.

The names of both the man and woman were not immediately available. Deputies did not disclose the relationship between the two.

The case remains under investigation by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
