A vehicle being towed on I-675 southbound caught fire Sunday afternoon and may be considered a total loss.

Beavercreek fire crews responded to a report of a car on fire in the right-hand southbound lane just north of the US Rt 35 interchange at the 14.6 mile marker of I-675. The tow truck driver pulled over and released the vehicle after seeing sparks. He then called the fire department for assistance. The engine compartment and a tire was reported showing flames.

The owner arrived on scene and informed us that the vehicle was being towed due to a frozen brake line issue.

Fire crews had the right lane of southbound I-675 shutdown while the fire was extinguished and the scene was cleared.
