DAYTON —
Smoke from a minor fire at 524 Kester Ave. in Dayton made a big mess within a small area of a Dayton apartment.
The apartment’s occupant told fire officials she was gone about an hour and came back to find her apartment on fire, said Dayton fire Capt. Brad Baldwin.
“The fire supposedly smoldered for a long time and it was only thing that kept everything from burning down,” he said. “It appears that this was an electrical fire.”
Smoke trapped in the roof began coming out through vents. Smoke damage to apartment was extensive in the small, enclosed area.
The fire remains under investigation and no damage estimates have been released.
