Burglars target house belonging to UD students

DAYTON —

More than $3,000 worth of items were stolen Saturday night from a house on Irving Avenue shared by four University of Dayton students.

Among the items taken were 10 video games, three computers and a 32-inch TV. The burglary is thought to have taken place at the residence — 721 Irving St. — between 11 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

Someone is thought to have gotten into the two-story home through an unlocked patio door. Officers noted in a Dayton police report that several footprints led away from the house toward a nearby parking lot.

An evidence crew was called to the scene in an attempt to collect fingerprints. As of Sunday morning, police had no leads regarding suspects.

A bookbag and shoes were also reported stolen. The total value of the missing items was approximately $3,685, according to Dayton police.
