Deputies in Darke County said three people were taken to Miami Valley Hosptial Sunday after a serious crash at the intersection of Route 36 and Arcanum-Bears Mill Road.

Deputies, along with Gettysburg Fire and Rescue were dispatched around 11:54 am, after getting reports of a two vehicle injury crash.

Mutual aid was requested due to the number of injuries.

A preliminary investigation from the Darke County Sherriffs office state that a 2008 Buick, driven by Donnie D. Baker, 77, of Greenville, was driving northbound on Arcanum Bears Mill Road and had stopped at the intersection of US Rt 36. Baker then pulled out into the intersection and was struck by a 1978 Chevy Nova, driven by Jimmy W. Keen, 40, of Union City, Ohio, which was heading eastbound on US Rt 36.

Donnie Baker and his passenger, Larry Baker, of Greenville, were trapped in their vehicle and eventually extricated by Gettysburg Fire and Rescue and Greenville Township Rescue. Both Bakers’ were transported to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight. Jimmy Keen was treated by Gettysburg Rescue and then also transported to Miami Valley Hospital via a second CareFlight. Keen’s passenger, Jimmy Keen Jr., 15, of Union City, Ohio was treated and transported by Greenville Township Rescue to Wayne Hospital.

Donnie Baker and Jimmy W. Keen were treated and released from Miami Valley. Larry Baker was listed in fair condition and no updates were available for Jimmy Keen Jr. on Sunday.

Charges are pending for failure to yield at a stop sign.
