PERRY TOWNSHIP, Ohio —
The criminal case against a Brookville man is on its way to a Montgomery County grand jury after the prosecutor's office approved a felony burglary charge on Tuesday afternoon.
Clinton D. Back, 30, is being held in the Montgomery County Jail after he was accused of burglarizing a home in Perry Twp. on Jan. 11, prosecutor's spokesman Greg Flannagan said.
Back was arrested in the home on that date after alert neighbors reported suspicious activity there, Flannagan said. Police were dispatched and found Back in the residence.
Police met with prosecutors and the charge, burglary of an occupied structure, which is a third-degree felony, was approved.
Police continue to look for a second suspect who was seen driving off in a tan sedan, possibly a Ford Taurus, after dropping Back off on Johnsville-Brookville Road. If anyone has information about the identity of this second suspect, they are encouraged to call MiamiValley Crime Stoppers at (937) 222-STOP.
Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. said, "It is important to be observant and report suspicious activity in your neighborhood to the police. Thankfully this defendant was captured during the commission of his crime. Now we need help in identifying his associate. Hopefully, someone knows who this individual is and will do the right thing and come forward."
