HARRISON TWP. —
A passerby spotted flames coming from a home’s chimney in Harrison Township Wednesday and alerted a person inside.
The person inside got out as fire crews arrived at the home in the 4300 block of Catalpa Drive. She was taken into an ambulance to keep warm but was not injured.
The firefighters ran a chain down the chimney to loosen what was in it. A fire captain at the scene said homeowners should be sure to clean chimneys out regularly.
A damage estimate was not immediately available.
