Funeral set for Clark Co. serviceman killed in combat

NEW CARLISLE —

The funeral for an area serviceman killed in Afghanistan will be Friday.

The service for Staff Sgt. Wesley Williams, a 2005 Tecumseh High School graduate, is set from 6 to 9 p.m. at Trostel Chapman Dunbar Fraley Funeral Home at 507 W. Jefferson St., New Carlisle.

A patriot guard will be on hand during the service. A private service is set for Saturday.

Williams, 25, will be buried at Alrington National Cemetery in Washington D.C.

Williams’ wife, Krista, is expecting their second child. He also leaves behind a 1-year-old daughter, Faith.

He was killed Dec. 10 in combat while serving with the Army’s 4th Stryker Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, said Krista Williams. Williams grew up in Park Layne, according to his wife.
