HARRISON TWP., Montgomery County —

A 79-year-old man listed as a critical missing has been found safe at a pizzeria in Vandalia.

Wilbur Asberry, an Alzheimer’s patient who was last seen by his family at about 5 p.m. Friday, was located at Christy’s Pizza, 503 S. Dixie Drive, at about 10:50 p.m., said Montgomery County sheriff’s Sgt. Leslie Bunch.

The alert for Asberry, of 2028 Titus Ave., was issued at about 9 p.m. , according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

When Asberry went missing, the sheriff’s office said he was last seen wearing a blue long-sleeve Polo shirt, black pants and no coat.

Titus Avenue is bordered by Needmore Road to the north, North Dixie Drive to the west, Rector Avenue to the south and Interstate 75 to the east. The restaurant is nearly five miles north of Asberry’s address.

To be considered as a critical missing, police say that generally a case must involve a very young child or someone 65 or older, someone who has some kind of severe physical or mental health issue, someone who requires some kind of constant medical care, or in the worst case someone who is believed to have been detained against their will.
