RICHMOND —
One person is in custody on charges of murder after a stabbing occurred on South J Street Saturday evening.
At 11:50pm, officers of the Richmond Police Department responded to 1801 south J Street apartment A-1 on a report of a fight. When officers arrived, they located the male victim identified as Shaun Aki, 20, of 3849 Germantown Rd, Dayton, outside the apartment on the sidewalk. Ali was transported to Reid Memorial Hospital for several apparent stab wounds where Ali died shortly after arrival. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, January 14.
Also located at the scene was a male suspect, identified as Ataul Shafeek, 23, of 109 East Fairview Road, Dayton. Detectives responded to the scene to get evidence.
Through the preliminary investigation, Shafeek was booked and jailed at the Wayne County Jail for Murder pending formal charges from Wayne County Prosecutors office.
