CLARK COUNTY —
Two people are charged with endangering after police said a neighbor saw them leave five children in their home unattended.
Juan Nicolas-Sanchez and Lorena Rodriguez-Moreno, of 134 Kennedy Drive Lot 32, were witnessed getting into their silver van and leaving the children, the oldest of whom was 6 years old at the time, according to the affidavit.
The incident occurred in May 2012, according to the affidavit. The responding deputy reported the two oldest children were outside of the home riding bicycles, and the other children were inside. When they attempted to enter, the door was locked. The parents pulled up while the attempt to enter occurred.
Sanchez told police he was going to cash his paycheck and that he had left the children alone before.
Children’s Services was contacted and the children were placed in the custody of Sanchez’s sister, who lives in Springfield.
Sanchez is currently in jail after he failed to appear in court.
