Mom, 3 children escape burning home

Staff Report

TROTWOOD, Ohio —

Damage is estimated at $10,000 following a fire Monday afternoon at 4425 Nevada Avenue.

Battalion Chief Brandon Barnett said that the fire started in a bedroom, and was contained to that room.

A mother and three children escaped the flames, but will have to find temporary shelter, officials said.

Barnett said there is too much smoke damage to return. At this time, there is no word on what started the fire.
