TROTWOOD —

A woman and her 12-year-old daughter are OK after three suspects invaded their apartment.

Sherri Brown, who lives on Belle Meadows Drive, said one man knocked on the door while she was lying in her bedroom. Her daughter answered the door and the man pointed a sawed-off shotgun at her.

The daughter ran to her mother’s bedroom, where the suspect forced them into a closet.

Brown said the man then let two other suspects in and raided their home, stealing her cell phone, an Xbox gaming system, some cigarettes and a small amount of cash. They attempted to take a flat-screen television but it was mounted on a wall and they couldn’t get it off, she said.

Police are investigating the scene this afternoon and taking fingerprints. Brown said she isn’t sure why they targeted her apartment where she has resided for the last three years, but she will be moving.

“I’m a survivor, I’ll be alright,” Brown said.

No one has been arrested in the incident, police said.
