No indictment returned in Miami Co. child rape case

TROY, OHio —

The Miami County prosecutor has confirmed to News Center that the Miami County grand jury did not return an indictment against a Piqua man who was originally arrested on a charge of rape.

Jeremiah Devlin, who was being held in the county jail on a $1 million bond was released from jail on Dec. 7.

The prosecutor said that while he can confirm that an indictment was not returned, he cannot, by law, disclose testimony presented to the grand jury or comment any further on the case.

Devlin had been accused of raping a male child under the age of 13 when he was arrested.
