Police: Drugs hidden in baby shoe

DAYTON —

Dayton narcotics officers served a search warrant at 1572 Cornell Drive on Tuesday evening and made one arrest for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

They received a tip that crack cocaine was being sold out of that house by a female, and obtained a search warrant for the property after an undercover investigation.

According to a police report, they entered the house at about 4:50 p.m. and found two children and two women inside.

A baggie of heroin, baggie of marijuana, a scale and several marijuana cigarettes were recovered from the home, according to the report.

The heroin, which weighed 2.9 grams, was being stored inside a baby shoe.

They arrested the female resident of the house who said she uses the drugs for personal use. She was no longer in the Montgomery County Jail on Thursday and no charges have been filed according to court records.

Both women were issued paperwork banning them from the property which was labeled a nuisance property by police. The report did not indicate whose children were present.
