DAYTON —
A woman has been ordered to court after police said they found her “heavily intoxicated” and laying in a driveway Saturday night. When they tried to help her, police said she purposely struck an officer.
Police around 11:30 p.m. received a report that a woman was laying in the 3000 block of Nicholas Road. According to a Dayton police report, officers found 33-year-old Alecia N. Swain upon arrival. She was drunk, police said, and had a small cut to her lip. Officers in their report also noted some swelling, possibly the result of falling to the ground.
Police said Swain refused to cooperate with them. Instead, she swore at them and hurled vulgar terms.
Swain because physically abusive while officers were patting her down, according to the report. She hit an officer on the left side of the officer’s face, on the officer’s jaw. The officer, according to the report, was sore but did not show any visible signs of injury.
Swain was eventually handcuffed and placed into a cruiser and taken to Grandview Medical Center. She was issued the arrest summons and released from police custody at Grandview hospital.
