A 32-year-old Troy woman is in critical condition at Miami Valley Hospital after an accident early Monday on Interstate 75 and Ohio 571.

Troopers said the car hydroplaned, hit the center wall, bounced off, and then hit an outside wall. Both the male driver and female passenger were out of the car when medics arrived. The driver refused treatment, and the passenger, identified as April Zornes, was taken to the hospital where she was listed in critical condition.

State troopers say she was injured in one of five accidents caused by high water along the  stretch of highway. Police said there were two crashes in northbound lanes and three crashes in southbound lanes.

Because of concerns over more rain. ODOT plans to shut down the far left lane of I-75 northbound and may also shut down the left lane of southbound I-75 at Ohio  571.
