DAYTON —
Kevin Peavy Jr., 36, was arrested Saturday morning just after midnight on possession of drugs.
Police said Peavy was driving a 1997 Oldsmobile 88 under a suspended driver’s license when he made an illegal traffic turn at the intersection of Richley Drive and Randolph Street in front of a Dayton police cruiser.
When police stopped Peavy, they discovered a female passenger lying on the front seat pretending to be asleep. Neither person had identification and Peavy, who was on probation for possession of drugs, was unable to write his signature on the traffic citation ticket.
News Center 7 learned from the police report the car was searched and two baggies were found, one suspected of containing crack cocaine, and the other of marijuana.
The car was towed and Peavy was booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
Additional drug charges may be pending.
