Power restored after outages in Montgomery and Greene counties

A power failure in an area of West Carrollton on Monday night that sent an estimated 409 Dayton Power & Light customers into darkness has been remedied. Some residents were also without power in Greene County, but that has also been repaired.

Power in the effected area of West Carrollton was restored at about 8:30 p.m., DP&L spokeswoman Judi Blair said, but work crews aren’t immediately sure why the outage occurred.

In Greene County, the outage in the Xenia area that affected 174 customers was first reported at about 5:58 p.m.

A crew fixed a faulty underground transformer, Blair said, and service was scheduled to be back on line by about late Monday night.

All DP&L customers in the Xenia area had power restored before 12:00 a.m. Tuesday.
