Staff Report
PREBLE CO., Ohio —
The Preble County Sheriff's Office has been given funding to reinstate a deputy assigned to investigations.
A full-time deputy will be dedicated to investigate and follow felony crime, including burglaries, sex offenses and crime related to drugs.
The Preble County Sheriff's Office has not had an investigative section since 2009.
"After careful review of the county's current budget status we feel that now is the right time for this to happen," Sheriff Mike Simpson said in a release.
The department wants to have someone in place by March 1.
