DAYTON —
One or more individuals broke into a Dayton Wendy’s Thursday morning, stealing a safe from inside an office while ransacking it and destroying at least one security camera.
Police responded to the restaurant, located at 1507 Wayne Ave., around 7:30 a.m. A restaurant manager met with officers, who quickly found that a rear door had been pried open. A dolly was sitting outside the door and all phone lines to the business had been cut.
The stolen safe had been bolted to the floor, according to the manager. It was estimated that about $2,000 cash was stolen.
The incident remains under investigation.
