Southbound I-75 reopened after crash

DAYTON —

I-70 was backed up both east and westbound after an accident shut down I-75 for about 45 minutes Saturday afternoon.

OSP Trooper Thip Vongsy said a pick-up truck was traveling from I-70 westbound onto southbound I-75.

Vongsy said the truck veered off the roadway and into the median. The driver then went back onto I-75 southbound where the truck overturned.

The truck was hit by a vehicle in the middle lane, and again by a vehicle in the left lane.

The driver, a 42-year-old man from Tipp City, was taken by Careflight to Miami Valley Hospital.

The other drivers refused treatment.

Vongsy said the man will be charged with failure to control and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
