Senator Brown annoyed by plan to build new museum for a space shuttle

By Bill Scheidel

WASHINGTON, DC —

Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown is irritated that one of the Space Shuttles that has been promised to New York will be housed in a location that New York didn’t include in its bid to NASA.   A New York Times story says instead of housing the shuttle in the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum there are plans now to buy some vacant commercial space and build a new space-themed museum.  Brown says the story “raises further questions about the thoroughness of NASA’s selection process.  Brown believes NASA should revisit its decision to send the Enterprise to New York.  NASA spokesman Michael Curie says that isn’t likely to happen.
