A short police pursuit in Richmond on Monday culminated with a pickup truck and a car colliding in the intersection of South 13th and B streets.

Richmond police told News Center 7 officers responded to a “suspicious” vehicle in an alley a couple blocks from what would become the crash site. The driver of the vehicle, a pickup truck, fled from police and was at one point driving the wrong way down the one-way B Street.

The truck flipped after colliding with the car, which was sent spinning in the intersection. At least two people were taken to the hospital as a result of the crash, but police say their injuries were not life-threatening.

Drugs were found inside the fleeing pickup, but it was not immediately clear how much or the type. A passenger was also inside. The driver was to be arrested on suspicion of felony eluding police.

Additional charges may be presented.
