SPRINGFIELD —
A Springfield couple was arrested Wednesday afternoon on drug trafficking charges stemming from a two-month investigation by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and Ohio Bureau of Investigation.
Detectives have been investigating heroin and cocaine sales in the county and identified Michael Lee Daugherty, 34, as a suspect, Sheriff Gene Kelly said.
Investigators located Daugherty at approximately 2:40 p.m. in Springfield and took him into custody following a brief foot pursuit.
Daugherty’s girlfriend, Amber Call, 27, was also taken into custody after she was stopped while driving his vehicle in the area.
Both have been charged with drug trafficking and are in the Clark County Jail. They will appear in county Municipal Court on Thursday.
Kelly has planned a news conference for Thursday morning to share more details of the investigation. Stay with News Center 7 and whiotv.com for developments on this story.
