HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio —
The suspect in a Tuesday morning shooting that left one man dead inside a Harrison Twp. gas station has turned himself in.
According to deputies, Frederick Woodfork, 23, of Courter Street in Trotwood was shot to death after an argument began with at least one other person inside Valero gas station at the corner of Philadelphia Drive and Siebenthaler Avenue around 1:05 a.m.
Evan Dixon turned himself in alongside his attorney at Montgomery County jail this afternoon.
Deputies said they do not believe the victim knew the group he was arguing with, and they do not know for sure what the argument was about.
Around 3 a.m., investigators towed a car from Riverview Avenue that may be part of the investigation. Deputies said they are unsure if the victim and the shooter knew each other.
The shooting remains under investigation.
According to our partners at the Dayton Daily News, Woodfork was involved in a March 2010 gun fire incident. He and two teens were hospitalized after being shot at a home at 2044 Rugby Road.
Police said that altercation started with a disagreement at the All-In-One Food and Fuel on James H. McGee Boulevard. The men moved to the Rugby Road home, where they began fist-fighting and the shooting started. As many as three men were believed to have fired shots then.
Police have not said if that incident is related to Tuesday's shooting.
