The trial of a man who allegedly conspired to kill his girlfriend who is also the mother of their young son has started.

Samuel Stein of Miamisburg was indicted charges of conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit aggravated murder in an alleged plot to kill his former girlfriend, the mother of his young son.

According to Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr., the then 29-year-old broached the subject last year with his roommate, who refused to take part in the plan. Fearing harm from Stein, the roommate went to Miamisburg police in March.

Based on their investigation, police arrested Stein at the McDonalds where he worked March 7.

The grand jury indicted Stein on two counts of conspiracy to commit aggravated murder and two counts of conspiracy to commit murder.
