Vectren Air Show organizers announce additions

By Breaking News Staff

DAYTON —

Organizers have announced the addition of vintage jet aircraft, barnstorming and fire to the 2013 Vectren Air Show.

Presented by Kroger, the show will be June 22-23 at Dayton International Airport. It’s the 39th year for the event that showcases Dayton’s aviation heritage.

The show will include an appearance of the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-17F, a “high-subsonic jet aircraft” used by the North Vietnamese as a primary Air Force intereceptor in the Vietnam War, according to a release.

The pilot of the aircraft will be Randy Baller, of Texas. He is the only pilot in the U.S. to hold an FAA Unlimited Aerobatic rating for both day and night jet fighter performances.

On display at the show will be the North American F-86 Sabre jet, which entered USAF service in 1949, according to the release.

The Dayton International Airport is located at 3800 Wright Drive.
